Peyote (Lophophora williamsii) is a small and slow growing desert cactus that has several active alkaloids of which mescaline is the most well know.

Cultivation of Peyote
The Peyote seeds can be planted in September and April. The seeds need to be spread out on the ground and covered with a thin layer of soil. Water untill germinate and keep soil humid. Seeds will grow in a week, do not over water the roots will rot.
The Peytote needs lots of warmth and light, but no direct sun light. 20 – 30 degrees Celsius. Needs a dry environment and not much attention is needed. After several years the peyote will grow to a size of 10-15 cm.
